Sending people to my old website always felt like a big letdown. When I asked for feedback, the consensus was clear: it was hard to navigate, difficult to find information, and left the user with no memorable experience. Once I realized the flaws, I immediately began to build a totally new experience from the ground up.

Ease of Use

My old website was miserable to read through. Much of the text and information was treated more aesthetically than functionally which made it incredibly hard to digest. Important pieces of information were either buried behind several clicks or entirely out of the everyday user's reach. For the redesign, my main goal was simplicity.

In the new layout, every element has a clear purpose where functionality always comes first. At the same time, I made sure the design remains consistent and fully skimmable. The biggest change was ensuring users can always contact me instead of forcing them to hunt for a button. Finally, mobile compatibility is drastically improved in both performance and element scaling.

Something Worth Saying

If you happened to stop by my old website, you probably left with more questions than answers. It was an empty husk of a website that didn't do justice to my skills or journey.

My new layout fixes that problem and creates clarity around what I'm presenting. I finally added a dedicated section for my ongoing education, along with a section for my professional work and other ongoing projects. The point of this space isn't just about my skills and professional life; it's also a chance to show a bit of my personality. I plan on expanding that space to include more of what I've picked up along the way.

Serious Motion

The old website's animations were smooth, but took up the majority of the screen and felt distracting or overwhelming. Nothing meaningfully reacted or had a reason to animate. It looked appealing, but wasn't consistent in the design.

I wanted the experience itself to be alive. Every interaction is backed by fluent and purposeful animation. Each page also features a unique shader; not only does it differentiate the page immediately, but it also looks friggin cool.

Where This Leaves Me

Looking back, my website never gave people a reason to stay and explore. It didn't guide them, didn't inform them, and definitely didn't leave any kind of impression.

This won't be the last version of this site. As I grow, learn, and take on new work, I expect this space to keep evolving alongside me.
